Hi Mike ~ I apologize for how long it has taken me to reply...I hope I'm not too late to help you out with your research. I searched our journals and found quite a bit about compassion fatigue. Here are some good articles you might want to take a look at:

Rx for Compassion Fatigue

Editorial: Combating compassion fatigue

Development of an Educational Module on Provider Self-care

You can find more by searching "compassion fatigue" from our home page (www.nursingcenter.com) Good luck with your research! Lisa

Very well said Lisa. For some strange reason the one profession that prides themselves on their care saves none of that care for themselves.
Thanks for including me Sean. June 27. 2011 23:10
Hi Lisa, I have scoured the internet looking for the challenges faced by RN's and it is mostly clinical. Nobody is talking about the emotional stress that you have. I am doing research on Compassion Fatigue and its affect on the individuals that have the symptoms. Can you tell me how much of your industry is affected by this? And what is being done about it?

Any feedback you can give me will help!

Thanks, Mike Sirignano
